Introduction

TeamSpeak 2 is a voice communications (voice comms) tool for real time voice chat over the internet. This is sometimes referred to as voice over IP.

Getting the Software

Visit Clicky Me and follow the download link on the far right of the page.
Assuming you are running a version of Microsoft Windows, you will want the TS2 Client (Win) link. TeamSpeak is completely freeware, so there is nothing to pay.

Once the software has downloaded, run the executable and follow the installation instructions. Once it is installed it might be useful to place a shortcut on the desktop (if it hasn’t already).

Setup & connecting to Server

When you start TeamSpeak client, the following window will appear:

Right now you are not connected to a server, nor do you have any set up, so let’s do this now.

Click on Connection and select Connect.

The following window appears:

Right click anywhere in the white space below where it says Servers, and select Add Server.

Type in the name of the server " -DVS- " (without quotes)

In server address, enter 78.129.232.132:8768
In Nickname, enter your Nickname

For time being leave Anonymous selected.

Now contact the Admin for the password!!!

I have a useful little shortcut that may be of use:

  • Go to desktop and create new shortcut.

  • Paste the following into the text box (without the "");

    "teamspeak://78.129.232.132:8768/nickname=MY%20NICKNAME?loginname=MY%20LOGIN%20NAME?password=MY%20PASSWORD?"

  • Replace MY%20NICKNAME with the nickname you want on the TS server.

  • Replace MY%20LOGIN%20NAME with the login name that you registered.

  • Replace MY%20PASSWORD with your login password.

  • Do not remove the ? between the different parameters.

  • Click next then give the new shortcut a name i.e. -DVS-

You now have a shortcut that will automatically login to the -DVS- TS.
